Pastor Dave Harff

Pastor David Harff has been the Children's Pastor at Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle, Smithtown, NY since March 1991. He & his wife Kristine were married in April 1992 and they have four children. Pastor Dave oversees 12 ministries to children including Kidz for Christ, puppet ministry, Pre-teens, Middlers, King's Kids Club, VBS and Kids in Missions. He is a 1986 graduate of Northeastern Bible College, Essex Fells, NJ and is also a part time Child Evangelist and occasional Conference Workshop Teacher in the children's ministry.

Kids in Missions was developed by Pastor Dave in January 1996. After having a desire to disciple preteen aged children with not only their walk with God, but in the area of missions, Pastor Dave wrote the Kids in Missions teacher and student manual which was published in July 1998. Kids in Missions is a 13 week curriculum for 5th, 6th & 7th graders that teaches, challenges and directs them in the area of missions. Not only do the children learn by doing the classroom activities, they are also used by God in outreaches by way of drama and puppetry. They learn missions by doing missions! Students get the opportunity to serve the Lord in churches, Nursing facilities and in town festivals all in the Long Island, New Jersey and Upstate New York areas.

Pastor Dave uses his ventriloquist figures Grandpa Lou, Sonkist and Shelton the Shark to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to children and families. He also uses object lessons, music and puppets to reach out to children of all ages.
